How trophies motivate kids to do their chores
September 5, 2026
Stars and rewards go a long way toward getting kids to do their chores – but sometimes it helps to have something more long-term to aim for. FamVibe just got a new feature: bronze, silver, and gold trophies that kids unlock completely automatically, with nobody having to keep track by hand.
1. Four different ways to be a hero
Kids can earn a trophy for four different things: how many chores they've completed in total, how many days in a row they've gotten everything done, how many stars they've collected, and how many rewards they've redeemed. A kid who loves long streaks and a kid who'd rather rack up points both get their own thing to aim for.
2. A little celebration right when it happens
The moment a threshold is reached, confetti and a short celebration animation pop up right on screen – no waiting until the next day, no reload needed. The same kind of small, instant payoff that makes you want to keep going.
3. Custom hand-drawn trophies, not just an emoji
Trophy, medal, or star – each one is custom-designed artwork in real bronze, silver, and gold shades, not a generic emoji. Dimmed until it's unlocked, then it lights up in color.
4. You decide how much it takes
Think gold should require more (or less) than the default? The thresholds can be adjusted in the admin panel, so they fit your own family's everyday life.
Want to try it? Trophies are completely free and show up automatically under the Chores tab as soon as kids start checking off their tasks. Download FamVibe for free.
